Play-Doh’s ‘Kids Can’ Campaign Models Young Minds

Hasbro launched a new campaign to strengthen critical development and imaginative play in kids. Play-Doh Kids Can campaign empowers kids through in-classroom lessons and digital programming. The initiative inspires children to play boldly and with open minds. The program is available in the U.S. and Canada.

Believing “imagination is a superpower,” Hasbro announced the campaign with the Play-Doh Imagination Curriculum. Hasbro hopes the programs will overcome restrictions and barriers to creative play by combatting factors that prevent kids from using their imaginations openly, including stress, judgment, and distraction.

The curriculum uses quick activities that encourage children anywhere they can open a can of Play-Doh. The activities vary in length from 5-15 minutes and include guides and lesson plans for guardians and educators. Hasbro hopes the current generation won’t grow out of using their imaginations and can strengthen their imaginations as a skill.

In November, the Play-Doh Imagination Curriculum will be available to 400,000 students in Title 1 schools. Non-profit organization First Book will provide 2 million cans of Play-Doh and the curriculum booklet, which will be available to educators online for free download. Hasbro has provided content to families online at shop.hasbro.com/play-doh.
