Las Vegas-based artist Sket-One brings his signature, mesmerizing design motif to the futuristic ROBBi platform figure from Chinese brand ROBBiART. The 400% ‘Vortex’ Phase 1 Robbi art toy (10.63″) features a classic cartoon-style smiling face over a hydro-dipped design with the deeply saturated swirls, dots and drips collectors love. Since the figures are essentially wrapped with a repeating pattern, no two are exactly alike with elements appearing in different spots except for the face which is where you’d expect it. As with other 400% ROBBi toys, the ‘Vortex’ Phase 1 has a magnetically attached thruster pack.
At first glance ROBBi seems like a rabbit astronaut and for good reason. The concept was inspired by China’s Yutu lunar rover which was named after the Chinese folklore legend of Yutu — the moon rabbit. The high-tech design features key elements including a visor helmet with oxygen hose and two ‘ears’ with rear vents.
The 400% ‘Vortex’ Phase 1 ROBBi art toy will be available from the ROBBiART booth 1411 at DesignerCon 2024 in Las Vegas (11.15 – 11.17). In addition, a smaller DesignerCon Exclusive 100% ‘Vortex’ Phase 1 ROBBi will be available as a carded figure from the DesignerCon booth (#707).
